Hailey Balaz
She/Her
Hello Friends, Family and strangers who found this page! My name is Hailey and you would have read above I am a musical theatre performer based out of Toronto! What’s more important to know about me is that I am in active eating disorder recovery and doing my best to be an advocate for body positivity in the musical theatre industry. Growing up as a dancer I always thought that being thin was more important that anything. I needed to monitor my food and activity incredibly strictly or I would never be successful. I lived in this mindset for 10 years before finally realizing how toxic it was. I have been working to be the best version of myself and show up in rooms and on stages exactly as I am and proud of the body I live in. Unfortunately for me, most of the footage of myself as a dancer is from when I existed in a smaller body. It can be really hard to book work without a stellar dance reel and thats where you come in. Im hoping to raise enough money to be able to properly invest in this reel in order to get myself on stages and be able to show the world that anyone can be a dancer, no matter their shape and size. Anything helps and your support means the world! 💜
Hailey's Goal: $590
Hailey (she/her) is a triple threat performer currently based out of Toronto, ON. She started performing at the age of 3 and hasn’t looked back since. She is a proud graduate of both the Etobicoke School of the Arts as well as Sheridan College where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the Music Theatre Performance Program. A powerhouse performer with a knack for comedy, a brassy mezzo soprano sound and dance skills to match; Hailey’s passion for performance shines through every time she steps on stage. With a natural gift for story telling, Hailey has been commended on multiple occasions for having an electric stage presence as well as being a true team player and company member who embodies the phrase “the show must go on”. She embodies this in all of her work but especially in her frequent work as a swing and understudy in the theatre industry. Outside of her own performances, Hailey’s other passion lies in sharing her love for the arts with the next generation of performers. She is a true believer that the arts can change peoples lives in so many ways and tries to impart that message of owning your uniqueness and letting your freak flag fly to every student she has the pleasure of crossing paths with.
